Leeds

Chris Mackenzie Portrait Photography

I spent sometime this week in Leeds catching up with a a great bunch of guys I met through Stewart Randall’s network of photographers. Septembers meeting was in Blackpool were you can see all of the usual suspects and some unflattering photographs of me. November will see us in Manchester.

On this trip, the guys from 3B Media (Barnaby, Rob and Phil) organised lunch, a makeup artist (Katy) and 3 models Steph, Charolotte and Alexander. The main aim of the trip was to get out of the office, catch up with every one and have some fun. The second priority was to pick up some off camera flash photography tips which can be quite a black art.

I’m exceptionally pleased with these photographs. By the time we packed up and headed to the pub I could barely see Charlotte through my lens (which explains why we didn’t adjust her hair), the Canon EX 580 and the ST-E2 infrared remote trigger really worked thier magic.

Superb work Chris! They’re all really great, but I really love the third one – her pose and the composition are fantastic. The second one from the end is excellent too – I love the flash balance with the background and the background composition is brilliant. Wish I could have been there.
