Phoebe with her mum, dad and sister visited the studio recently to have Phoebe’s first photographs taken. It’s a huge privilege for us to have the responsibility of taken photographs which in time will become treasured memories.

It was a fantastic day and the photographs look absolutely stunning.

We are launching the Strathkinness Summer Special at Strathkinness Primary School Sports Day tommorow (30th of June 2010). It’s summer and the weather has been glorious. With the Schools finishing this weekend it’s the ideal time to book a family portrait session. To help out with costs we are offering residents of Strathkinness a complementary lifestyle photography session.

We are comfortable photographing toddlers to teenagers, mums and dads too. It all takes an hour or two; you can change clothes – if you would like something formal and then a bit more laid back. We like to start where you live, some photographs around the house and then to the beach or the woods, wherever you like really.

I’ve in the past been called Fife’s leading portrait photographer. Thats certainly not an accolade I would ever take lightly and its for people with far more skill and experience than I to judge.

These images of Georgia, though I feel must capture all the things I aspire for in my photography. A bond between photographer, camera and subject, great light, the ability to create a scene and the capability to respond to the exact moment that magic happens. And that very special factor emotion.

I took the photographs on the West Sands at St Andrews and in Georgia’s garden.

These images have been lightly retouched to bring out the natural colours that existed at the time the photographs were taken. And also to remove the bumps, scrapes and runny noses that you would expect to see on an active and charming 3 year old. I couldn’t have risen to this level of perfection if it had not been for the help of my very dear friend Jennifer Clare whos is a constant source of inspiration to me.

Dundee City Quay is a fantastic place to have a fun portrait session. There are so many opportunity for fantastic photographs. It was a real treat to work with Rachel and her Mum, capturing these photographs of them together.

I was over the moon to be asked by Iona to photograph her new born daughter Elisa at our Studio in St Andrews last week. Elisa was just 6 weeks old. Iona and I had an energetic hour entertaining Elisa whilst we captured some timeless photographic memories for her mum and grandma.

It’s been a hectic few weeks round here with lifestyle photography enquiries and requests for childrens photography coming in for Christmas. Taking breath for a moment, I thought I would let all my friends know that we won a silver award from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers for this beautiful portrait of the gorgeous Olivia.

Olivia’s parents were over the moon with my black and white photograph which they thought was awesome. It’s an amazing feeling when parents recognise a really beautiful timeless photograph of their child. That for me is the mark of professional photography, delivering the best you possibly can, away from the studio dealing with problems and providing solutions on the move.

We better not forget about Olivia’s brother Alexander who was an absolute star, a really gorgeous photographic model …..

Alexander was intent on walking, though not yet able during the photography session. When I visited on Monday to drop of these prints he was navigating around the kitchen with the aid of the dining chairs.

The SWPP competition results are out for January. I recieved two Bronze awards and a Silver.

My first entries in the competition: The horse was a grab shot during a failed seascape shoot on Islay. The sun broke through the clouds and really made my day. The image of Lilly was photographed on my first ever portrait commision. The seascape, Lunan Bay, a stark beautiful environment.

The horse got the silver.
